We are currently hiring an Operations Manager, (OM), for the Winnipeg International Airport, on a Full Time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager, (GM), the Operations Manager oversees day-to-day operations providing the Checkpoint Managers, (CPM), with direction, guidance and support to ensure operational effectiveness.
Major Accountabilities / Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversees and manages all aspects of site planning, organizing, training, monitoring and achieving the overall performance expectations of CATSA, Transport Canada and GardaWorld
- Ensures site operations comply with GardaWorld and CATSA’s financial, operational and security SOPs, procedures, policies and programs
- Monitors operational performance metrics and suggests operational improvements. Identifies needed performance improvements by analyzing internal data and external best practices. Makes timely, intelligent, realistic recommendations for reactive and proactive change
- Provides GM information to help with long-term strategic planning
- Develops and implements CPM schedules and tracks all vacations, time off, leaves, etc.
- Manages CPM performance
- Oversees and manages all aspects of the CATSA operational staff relationship
- Directs, motivates and coaches the performance of direct reports. Communicates and discusses site performance with direct reports regularly including regular performance reviews
- Executes employee programs for direct reports (i.e., reward and recognition, retention, recruitment and engagement)
- Conducts interviews for CPM roles in collaboration with GM

Application Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. business/commerce, business management, etc.) OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a related field
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite specifically in Excel and Access
- Proven experience of managing teams
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident as defined in the Immigration Act with an employment authorization document
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and Secret Clearance
- No previous criminal background for which a pardon has not been granted
- 18 years or older
