Overview
The Turn Around Crew (TAC) Ramp Manager is responsible for executing the strategic and operational plan for the Edmonton Airport below the wing with strong leadership and team culture. The TAC Ramp Manager will represent and influence stakeholders with a focus on safety, developing our people, and aggressively manage costs within their control. The TAC Ramp Manager will set an environment that allows our people to achieve extraordinary results and create a remarkable experience for our guests. 

Daily Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure safety is first priority for our people, guests and equipment through the regular reinforcement of our Value statement
  • Create and maintain an environment for achieving operational goals and employee satisfaction targets through the development of a strong, dynamic leadership team and the empowerment of our people
  • Develop a yearly safety plan with leadership including audits, employee injuries and illness
  • Model, guide and motivate front line leaders to achieve priorities and take actions to support WestJet’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Develop and manage the annual business plan supporting corporate and airports strategic plans, budgets and key performance indicators
  • Represent WestJet at a senior level with the Airport authority on TAC strategic initiatives and advance planning
  • Strongly represent WestJet’s interests at a senior level with external agencies (i.e. USCBP, Airport Authorities) and business partners (i.e. Cargo Handlers)
  • Work with TAC Operations Manager and ACT to understand the key people issues within the airport and execute action plans for continuous improvement of morale
  • Managing the business vertically and horizontally to ensure the message from our Senior leaders is delivered in a timely and accurate manner
  • Builds relationships through open and honest communication, focusing on the development of direct reports through motivational coaching and mentorship

Qualifications:
  • Ramp experience required
  • 6-10 years’ leadership experience required in a customer service and operations focused experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ business leadership experience in a large-scale operation (200+ direct/indirect employees) with a significant level of internal and external dependencies and relationships
  • Proven track record leading a team to deliver superior customer service to a large volume of individual clients
  • Possess strong business acumen in order to deliver departmental plans including budget
  • Track record of developing effective leadership teams
  • Postsecondary education with a business application is required
  • Proven track record in leading business operations
  • Excellent ability to multitask & handle changing priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple leaders simultaneously
  • Proficient in PC based applications, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.
