Operations Supervisor

Main Functions:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all facets of ramp, fuel and de-icing operations, ensuring compliance with the Company’s protocols and procedures. The Operations Supervisor provides leadership and direction to a team of Aircraft Refuelers, Line Technicians and Ramp Agents and participates in ground and fuel operations when required.

Responsibilities: 

• Ensure adherence of corporate, departmental and OH&S policies and procedures.

• Plan, design and perform ramp and fueling services according to the standards set by Executive Flight Centre including; aircraft fueling, loading/unloading, marshalling and chocking aircraft, grooming aircraft including lavatory and potable water servicing as required.

• Establish and lead a high-performance fuelling and ramp team in order to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.

• Ensure KPI’s and monthly safety and services levels are met.

• Perform audits on handling and safety as required and involvement in implementation regarding fueling, tank farm and ramp operations.

• Perform audits on De-Icing Operations and provide provides proper trainings to agents.

• Ensure training records for agents are up-to-date and provide necessary training to fuel/ramp agents.

• Provide a variety of servicing on aircraft as required.

• Make sure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution.

• Provide oversight review on Logistics department (FBO Operations).

• Communicate changes in policy, procedures, products, services, or any other alterations that affect delivery of customer care.

• Assist in field maintenance, primarily on the apron and around the building entrances for snow clearing and grass cutting.

• Direct passengers on the apron as instructed by passenger service agents.

• Ensure correct baggage loading information is given to each aircraft, including any ballast concerns.

• Operate all ground service equipment and refueling vehicles.

• Plan and prioritize work for self and staff.

• Determine needs for supplies and equipment.

• Direct involvement in refuelling and ramp personnel, including recruitment, termination, training, evaluations, overtime and timesheet approval, and other administrative duties.

• Troubleshoot issues within the fueling and ground handling process.

• Communicate with Base and Operations manager for any operational issues.

• Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.

• Ensure exceptional, courteous and respectful customer service through compliance and participation in the Company’s Step Up to Customer Service Program.

• Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.

• Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience: 

• A certificate or diploma in a related field is an asset.

• Previous experience in the aviation industry in a similar role is an asset.

• Minimum two years’ ramp and fueling experience is preferred.

• Class 3 or Class 1 license is required.

• Airport Security Clearance and Driver’s Abstract is required as a condition of employment.

• First Aid and CPR are an asset.

• Previous experience leading and supervising a team is required.

• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

• Professional, punctual, meticulous and diligent.

• Must be able to obtain a restricted operator’s certificate (radio license) within 60 days of employment.

• Able to work inclement weather, overtime and extended shifts.

• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

• Able to lift or move up to 60 lbs as required.

• Highly motivated and able to work with minimal or no supervision.

• Able to work various weekday and weekend shifts.

• Must have basic mathematics, trouble shooting skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

• Able to analyse and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.

• A strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

• Proficiency with MS Suite including; Word, Excel and Outlook is required.

• Able to work well under pressure and respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment

• Able to multi-task and establish priorities.

• Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
