You exhibit sound judgement in executing your responsibilities with respect to directing and coordinating the operations of airport facilities in accordance with government law, rules, regulations and policies. As part of WASCO, the Nunavut Airport Services and in partnership with the Arctic Infrastructure Limited Partnership, the Airport General Manager will report to the Managing Director, WASCO and Accountable Executive. The Airport General Manager will: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Iqaluit International Airport in accordance with Transport Canada regulatory requirements and the Government of Nunavut Project Agreement. Act as the Services Director in accordance with the Project Agreement and will supervise and execute performance and reporting obligations under the Public Private Partnership (P3 or PPP) Agreement. Recommend, develop and implement airport policies and procedures. Ensure that operating rules maximize safety considerations and that appropriate training is provided to implement emergency procedures. Lead, manage, recruit, hire, train and evaluate a team of airport operational professionals. Collaborate with accounting staff with budget preparation and monitor expenditures to ensure efficient management of funds. Inspect and review reports of airport facilities to determine long-term development needs to ensure effective and efficient airport operations. What the successful candidate will bring: Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or related field with 15 years of experience in aviation with a minimum of 5 years in a management role. Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, operational planning and supervision. Experience with PPP would be an asset. Experience in an ISO environment would be an asset. Exceptional leadership, mentoring and team management skills. Proven experience in executive report writing and presentation skills.
