WHAT YOU WILL DO
Reporting to Supervisor, Airfield Operations, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe airfield operating environment for aircraft, vehicles, and personnel at Canada’s fourth busiest airport. Your primary responsibilities include:
• Daily implementation of the Airfield Site Self Inspection Program (SSIP)
• Daily execution of the Wildlife Management Program
• Providing support to Emergency Responders in the role of On-Scene Controller in the event of an incident
• Providing guidance to Authority staff and other agencies on matters of airfield safety through the knowledge and application of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Acting as the Airfield Construction Coordinator. This includes:
o Coordinating with Project Managers, Airport Duty Managers, and Nav Canada
o Reviewing construction schedules
o Preparing, issuing and managing all airfield NOTAMs
o Attending construction planning meetings and advising on operational impacts and regulatory compliance
o Inspecting construction sites for correct implementation of operational safety measures
• Conducting audits of Authority assets and tenant operations ensuring compliance with regulations and Authority policies

• Knowledge of airport operations and regulations and or wildlife management programs
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License or equivalent, subject to a clean driver’s abstract
• Meet requirements of a safety-sensitive position
• Ability to obtain and maintain the following:
o Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP)
o Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
o Restricted Radio Operators Certificate
o Restricted Firearms Possession and Acquisition License (PAL)
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule in a 24/7 operation including days, afternoons, midnights, weekends and holidays
• Strong computer skills, displaying ease in working with a variety of software applications and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as high degree of attention to detail
• Effective written and documentation skills in order to complete Airfield Site Self Inspections, daily shift summary and incident reports
• Ability to work effectively as a team and independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of airport operations and regulations and or wildlife management programs
