EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
AIRPORT LANDSCAPING LABOURER –
TEMPORARY, FULL TIME (MAY – SEPT)
Pitt Meadows Airport Society (PMAS) is seeking an enthusiastic individual
to join its staff as an Airport Landscaping Labourer.
Acting under the direction of, and
reporting to, the Operations Manager or his/her delegate, the Airport
Landscaping Labourer shall be responsible for providing day to day maintenance
of airport property. The Pitt Meadows Airport Society strives to maintain the
airport in the best possible condition, to ensure the safe movement of
aircraft, and safety of airport users. The ideal candidate would have both
aviation knowledge and a passion for landscaping.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
§
Provide
maintenance services as part of the preventative and maintenance program for
airport grounds, including grass cutting, landscaping, general clean up,
painting, sweeping of paved areas, etc.
§
Provide
maintenance services as part of the preventative and maintenance program for
airport buildings, including the repair and/or the replacement of roofs,
windows, doors, locks, lights, etc.
§
Assist
in the maintenance of airport equipment and vehicle, maintains tools and
equipment in safe working order.
Key Qualifications:
§ Commercial landscaping experience preferred
§ Airport Operations and/or aviation
experience preferred
§ Ability to operate light to heavy
specialized equipment.
§ Ability to prepare and maintain accurate
records, reports, quotes, etc.
§ Ability to work in controlled areas nearby
aircraft.
§ Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
work flow.
§ Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with staff, pilots, leaseholders, business executives,
City representatives, contractors, and the general public.
§ Must hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s
License; must possess the ability to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s
Permit (AVOP).
§ Fluent in English.
