We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Environmental Analyst, Construction Monitoring in the Environment Department.



Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing new land and building development projects and preparing environmental management strategies to ensure projects are conducted in a sound environmental manner
  • Working closely with project management personnel and construction contractors to carry out environmental impact studies, develop environmental management plans and monitor airport construction projects to ensure compliance with environmental standards
  • Promoting sustainable building and landscaping practices throughout the airport community
  • Preparing technical reports, as well as, developing and implementing environmental training programs
  • At least two years’ experience conducting environmental studies, research and monitoring, supplemented by an undergraduate degree in natural science, environmental studies or engineering; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • A keen analytical ability and proficient computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrated skills and experience in conducting effective presentations and training programs
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated excellence in report writing
  • Knowledge of federal, provincial and local environmental legislation
  • Experience in the following areas would be an asset: environmental impact assessment, water sampling, soil sampling, construction site monitoring, fish & wildlife habitat studies, air quality, greenhouse gas management, sustainable building and landscaping design and contaminated sites assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting with a focus on results
