We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Strategic Relationship Manager – Air Canada, reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Customer Relationship. The successful candidate will be accountable for sustaining and improving the overall relationship between the Airport Authority and Air Canada, our largest customer. The role will be critical in bringing the voice of Air Canada to YVR. Success in this role will be the enablement of sustainable and profitable growth for Air Canada through YVR’s actions. This will in turn be a key driver for YVR to be successful and meet its purpose.

Key responsibilities include:
- Developing a full understanding of the Air Canada Strategy at YVR
- Partnering with Air Canada and YVR teams in the development of the Air Canada business to drive revenue in the most efficient manner
- Ensuring YVR anticipates and meets planned outcomes for Air Canada
- Providing timely information and guidance to YVR teams on Air Canada business and needs
- Working with Air Canada and guiding YVR internal teams to ensure the coordination of commercial agreements and the delivery of their desired product at the airport
- Forecasting and reporting on Air Canada business milestone and objectives
Key qualifications include:
- Recent experience in customer facing industries including aviation, airline, airport operations and/or in a sales/commercial leadership role
- Demonstrated excellent communication and negotiation skills, with independent judgment in order to develop approaches to building a high-quality relationship across a business
- Strong business analytics and financial experience
- Proven organization skills, including time and project management; this includes the ability to develop systems that capture, retain, and disseminate key customer information to the organization
- Bachelor’s degree supplemented by at least 10 years of recent, related experience in customer facing industries including aviation, airline, airport operations and/or sales/commercial; a post graduate degree in a business, aviation, operations or sales related field is considered an asset; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
