Experience the energy and activity of aviation in Old Crow, as an Air North, Yukon’s Airline Station Attendant. Along with being the friendly face of check-in, your role will be to provide safe, efficient and accurate handling of baggage and cargo – as well as ensuring the safety of aircraft, equipment and your fellow teammates.
As a station attendant, you will be responsible for performing cargo and passenger services, including: loading & unloading baggage and cargo, equipment checks, marshalling aircraft in and out, and ensuring compliance with Transport Canada and Air North safety regulations and policies are upheld. This is an exciting, fast-paced, and time-critical place to be, right at the center of the action. A professional attitude and ability to work in a team environment are key.
Would you describe yourself as having:
- The ability to work outside in all climatic conditions
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, split shifts, weekends, holidays, and irregular operations with little or no notice
- The ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance
- A Safety conscious attitude
- Computer literacy with ability to complete online training and recurrent training
- Team player with effective English communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A demonstrated passion for providing outstanding customer service by ensuring all baggage and cargo reach the right destination in a safe and timely manner
Qualifications/Conditions of Employment:
- Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or show proof of right to work in Canada
- Grade 12 High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be physically fit (able to bend, kneel, crawl, stoop and climb repetitively)
- Able to lift up to 50 to 75 pounds repetitively
- Must successfully complete the initial training program
- Previous airline experience would be considered an asset
- Most importantly, a good sense of humour and likes to have fun
