Pacific Coastal Airlines - Airports Support Manager

 Pacific Coastal Airlines is seeking a permanent full-time Airports Support Manager based out of South Terminal building located close to the Vancouver International Airport in RichmondWe are excited to welcome safety-oriented and customer service minded individual to continue their career with our company.

Reporting to the Vice President, Airports, is a leadership support position responsible for the Airports team with the goal of delivering consistent and exceptional service, to internal and external customers. This position will support all Departments in the Airports Division, with administrative and operational responsibilities

The ideal candidate has three or more years of supervisory experience in an Airport Customer Service or Ramp operations within the aviation industry. Excellent leadership, administration and communication skills are required for success in this role. We are seeking a highly professional and driven individual who will support the department to operational excellence through continuous improvement as well as the evaluation and implementation of new procedures, processes and technology.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employ industry best practices in order to maximize efficiency and to uphold and advance the Company's competitive position with respect to Customer Service delivery, innovation and ground handling practices
  • Identify issues and engage in structured problem solving to assist the local leadership in accomplishing their tasks
  • Support the department's capacity in establishing and achieving annual goals and objectives
  • Engage the local leadership in, reliable and consistent service, by ensuring understanding of all Standard Operating Procedures
  • Provide assistant with training and performance management
  • Create and uphold safety and operational standards and to ensure that all practices meet or exceed regulatory requirements
  • Conduct trend analyses, review key metrics and take actions to address items not on track
  • Foster and maintain a departmental culture that is respectful, supportive and engaging consistent with the Company's Vision and Values;
  • Conduct "routine" investigations, as appropriate, into performance, safety (damages and injuries), complaints and other work issues
  • Supporting Administrative functions such as Safety reporting, Manpower planning, Letter writing, documenting meetings, working on software projects
  • Supports with interviewing and hiring of new, and replacement staff
  • Recognize and meet expectations of external customers
  • Complete all mandatory regulatory and Company required documentation of activities
  • Attend department related meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in either Airport Customer Service or Ramp operations.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation such as CARs, Canada Labour Code, etc. as well as how regulatory bodies operate and interrelate
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Planning, forecasting, goal setting, budgeting and financial analysis skills
  • Ability to support, engage and inspire others
  • Intermediate technical skills in Microsoft Office, Sabre and/or Amelia
  • Excellent communication with both both internal/external customers, authorities and agencies
  • Familiar with best practices in the industry
