The Vancouver Airport Authority has a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Coordinator, Airfield Programs in the Airside Operations Department. Reporting to the Manager, Airfield Maintenance Services. The successful candidate will support and develop programs in the areas of Airfield Maintenance, Winter Operations, Wildlife Management and Floatplane Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Arranging for the collection of, and collecting, data and feedback around existing programs
- Coordinating, planning, and leading work associated with programs and seasonal changes
- Tracking, analysing, and communicating information about airfield infrastructure for situational awareness and to ensure continuous improvement
- Engaging internal and external program stakeholders and addressing gaps when identified
- Supporting the continuous improvement of programs
- Promoting and educating stakeholders on departmental plans, procedures and processes
- Supporting contract management and procurement
- Developing, writing and updating plans and procedures – including training and implementation as appropriate
- Supporting ongoing departmental operations and projects
Key qualifications include:
- Minimum of five years’ experience managing programs or projects or conducting business analysis, including: working with analysts to translate business needs; stakeholder engagement and change management; and either working in an operations environment or working with operations professionals, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree with a focus on GIS, project management, airport operations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and review multiple stakeholder and program requirements
- Ability to confidently handle difficult conversations and support case with logical, objective research
- Proven ability to lead meetings and workshops with stakeholders with differing opinions
- Highly detail oriented
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently and engage as a positive part of the team
- Proficient with MS Office Suite; software skills using ArcGIS and Maximo is an asset
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.
Occasional irregular shifts will be required. A driver’s license and Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit is required.
