I am currently employed with Airport Terminal Services (ATS) as well as AeroMag, the new deicing company that was awarded a 10-year contract with YVR. I am also enrolled at Embry Riddle doing online courses.
I have been with ATS just over a year now, and am looking to be sent to Houston to do flight operations training for Continental Airlines. ATS has grown really fast over the year I have been with them, from about 20-30 employees when I was hired to 40-50 now, including Bobby Lee and Trevor Chang (from class 9).
My first season at AeroMag has also been an awesome experience. I was able to work as a deicing technician as well as deicing tower staff. I am hoping to be working with them next season as well (Hopefully, we will get more snow next season). Once again, it's a lot of fun to meet new people such as Basil, Amar and Maggie who were in the early Airport Operations classes.
I also began a Bachelor Degree of Science in Professional Aeronautics close to three months ago. I was able to transfer many of my credits from BCIT, which was a great. I have been learning so much from the courses at Embry Riddle. Participation on the online discussion boards is a must, and it is such a great opportunity to chat and discuss aviation topics with people around the globe. Many of the students are from the military background and are actually deployed somewhere right now while taking the course. I am expecting to graduate from Embry Riddle in about 2 - 3 years!
