Canadian North is currently recruiting a Coordinator, Community Air Service - Igloolik
The Coordinator, Community Air Service is a salaried position with Canadian North Inc., responsible for the leadership and support of Canadian North’s ground operation at the Igloolik airport, with a focus on safety and professionalism.
• Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety
• Ensure there is a primary focus on a safe operation while delivering outstanding customer service and on time performance
• Attend to and resolve operational problems as they arise
• Oversee all aspects of the ground handling functions performed by contract employees
• Ensure ground handling contract obligations are met by ground handling employees
• Take a leadership role in assisting with all customer service needs during Irregular Operations
• Other duties as required
Qualifications:• Minimum one year of operational experience in an airport environment
• Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required
• Ability to successfully complete the Canadian North Automated Weight & Balance Program training, considered an asset
• A working knowledge of the Sabre reservations system, a definite asset
• Experience in a ramp environment, considered an asset
• A working knowledge of all facets of airline station operations, preferred
• Effective interpersonal skills in dealing with customers, the public, company management and employees, as well as contract management and employees
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and possess good time management skills
• Strong ability to determine performance goals and ability to hold others accountable
• Ability to work flexible and irregular hours
• Ability to become a qualified person as outlined in the Canadian North Ground Icing Operations Program
• Ability to successfully complete online Dangerous Goods training or other online or recurrent training as assigned
• Must have valid Driver’s License and Airside Vehicle Operating Permit
