New Posting - Calgary Flying Club

The Calgary Flying Club (CFC), established in 1927, is a dynamic, not for profit, energetic and fun-filled organization that offers high quality flight instruction, from ab initio through to a complete commercial multi-IFR vocational training program, combined with a vibrant club engaging in a multitude of flying activities and associated social events. The club has 20 staff and approximately 400 members, most of whom are active in flying, events, training and volunteer efforts.
We are currently seeking a General Manager to take up the position by the end of February 2013.

The General Manager reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the daily operations of the CFC; supervising all staff and activities; filling the position of Accountable Executive for CFC and CFC Maintenance Ltd. under CARs 106.0; and carrying out the directives of the CFC Board of Directors.

The successful candidate will have:
• Previous management and financial experience of a similar sized and complexity organization.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant CARs.
• Previous experience of using computer-based spreadsheets; preparing budgets; and collating and presenting financial data.
• Excellent spoken and written communications skills and be proficient at preparing and delivering Power Point presentations and Word documents.

Previous experience in the aviation sector and a love of GA flying will be definite assets.
