Turnaround Coordinator
Airport Terminal Services - Vancouver, BC
Part-time
SUMMARY : Manage the documented operating process for the aircraft arrival and departure activity. This position reports directly to the Service Delivery Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Know company policies and interpret manuals in order to relate the interpretations to team members.
  • Minimum of “Very Good” rating on most recent evaluation and in good standing with regards to attendance.
  • Ensure staff has the sufficient training load, unload bags and passengers safely.
  • Calculate and distribute weight and balance of aircraft.
  • Must have great multi-tasking skills and organization abilities.
  • Liaison between the ramp, gate, operations, and ticket counter to ensure an ontime and safe flight.
  • Available at each inbound and outbound flight without exception.
  • Responsible for the security of company funds, supplies and equipment.
  • Responsible for insuring compliance with established company safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to, the ramp and passenger service area.
Knowledge of FAA and Transport Canada requirements and airline required audits. 
  • Should have proven good decision-making, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven numeracy skills.
  • Work under pressure, and willingness to work harmoniously in a team environment.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Thorough knowledge of airport operations (arrivals, departures, ticket counter).
  • Basic knowledge of airline reservations.
  • Solve basic problems within the operation (denied boarding compensation, irregular operations, delays, cancellations, etc.).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Must be able to obtain airport security clearance which includes an extensive check of your last 5 years of employment, criminal record and residence history.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Must be able to lift up to 32 kgs.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment.
BACKGROUND QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Extensive Aircraft weight and balance knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of all applicable Transport Canada, CATSA, FAA, Labour Canada & WCB Regulations.
  • Knowledge of wide and / or narrow body aircraft handling
  • Strong communication skills to converse professionally with customers and employees are ideal.
  • Ramp based experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Experience in working within a unionized environment is an asset.
  • A written test will be required prior to candidate selection.
LOCATION/SPECIFIC WORKING HOURS: 
  • This is a temporary position for the months May - October
  • Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations.
  • Some travel required.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts, weekends, or irregular shifts.
