Food & Beverage Tenant Relations Representative – Commercial Services Department

The Vancouver Airport Authority has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Food & Beverage Tenant Relations Representative in the Commercial Services Department. Reporting to the Manager, Retail Sales & Service Programs, the successful candidate will manage and support all aspects of YVR’s food and beverage operations.
Key responsibilities include:
· Managing the day-to-day operational functions of food and beverage tenants within the airport by regularly meeting with tenants, resolving customer complaints and conducting kitchen inspections
· Managing suppliers, such as pest control, grease removal, and repairs and maintenance, to provide services to food and beverage operations
· Reviewing existing operational policies and developing strategies to increase efficiency
· Ensuring food and beverage operations are in compliance with respect to audits, rules, regulations and all standards set by YVR; as well as compliance with regulatory organizations such as the Health Authority and Liquor Board
· Managing the retail cart concession program including all operational functions
· Reviewing sales performance, identifying trends and evaluating opportunities to improve tenant sales performance
Key qualifications include:
· Completion of a two or three year certificate or diploma in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Operations, Business Administration or Operations
· FOODSAFE certification; World Host training is an asset
· At least 5 years’ solid experience in the food and beverage industry with some restaurant management experience
· Demonstrated experience in tenant relations; experience in an airport setting an asset
· Proficiency in MS Office
· Fluency in English; second language an asset
· Excellent business acumen with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and demanding environment
· Proven customer service, negotiation and problem solving skills
· Knowledge of basic finance, pest control, environmental practices (such as composting and waste management) and restaurant facilities maintenance
