Assistant Manager, Marketing and Business Development, Consulting

Assist in promoting IATA Consulting internally and externally to Airlines, Airports, Civil Aviation and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) as well to Governments and Lending Institutions;
Assist the Manager, Marketing and Business Development with the preparation of the necessary promotional material in terms of newsletter material, project sheets, standardized Line of Business (LOB) PowerPoint presentations and printed collateral material;
Under the supervision of the Manager, Marketing and Business Development, contribute to the definition of the marketing strategy of the LOB and support its implementation;
Monitor industry business development subscription‐based websites and proactively aim to be on airport, civil aviation, cargo and airline preferred vendor lists;
Assist with the preparation of white papers for publication on the web or presentation at events and workshops and if required attend major conferences and events;
Assist in preparing EOIs and writing proposals for external clients;
Update regularly the Business Development Report as to the status of Consulting EOIs and proposals under consideration by existing or potential clients;
Maintain and feed (through on‐going recruitment) project and consultant databases ;
Carry out client-billable research and analysis (based on various sources such as industry databases, conducting interviews, etc) as part of a team of experts working with airlines, airports, civil aviation bodies, or air navigation service providers;
Support project delivery when and if appropriate;
Other related duties as required by the Director of consulting.
 
Qualifications and Skills
  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (particularly Air Transportation);
  • Very good business development skills including the ability to write proposals;
  • Minimum 5 years work experience, including at least 2 years in airport planning/ civil aviation or airline management consulting;
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct extensive research related to airport, civil aviation, air traffic management, and/or airline consulting projects;
  • Strong quantitative skills including the ability to summarize large amounts of information;
  • Strong inter-personal skills in cross-cultural and multi-lingual situations;
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects;
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; fluency in any other major language such as French, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, etc, is an asset.
