Missinippi Airways is one of the oldest and most seasoned air charter provider in Northern Manitoba, serving its’ communities, as well as those in Saskatchewan and Nunavut. We provide the private sector for air ambulance, medevac, corporate shuttles, executive charters and a scheduled service to Pukatawagan. 

Missinippi Airways currently has the following position available:

Position Available: Assistant to the Chief Pilot (pilot in waiting)
Location: Grace Lake Airport, The Pas, MB
Reports to: Chief Pilot


Position Summary: 

The Assistant to the Chief Pilot is responsible for; ensuring Pilot Training Records are current as per the Company Operations Manual, updating aircraft chart library’s and GPS cards, and to ensure online training is completed and updated. Work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This position is part of the Pilot In Waiting program. After 9 months to a year depending on pilot position availability, there is opportunity for movement to the flight line.

Major Responsibilities:

 File all corresponding documents into Pilot Training Records in a timely manner
 Audit each Pilot Training Record monthly and ensure they match Skyline
 Audit all Operational Flight Plans weekly and report any errors to the Chief Pilot
 Update all aircraft and base manuals
 Update all aircraft navigation charts (every 56 days) and GPS (every 28 days)
 Assign all aerostudies courses to pilots
 Audit all aerostudies courses to ensure comprehension
 Redesign and issue new aerostudies courses
 Update Skyline when receiving pilot documents
 Liaise with internal departments and external agencies which affect services as required for safe and efficient flight operations
 Other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot

Qualifications:

Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in related field
 Excellent written and verbal communication
 Self motivated
 Able to manage deadlines effectively
 Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented 
 Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize 
 Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel
 Ability to be independent and objective in performing the assigned tasks
 Attention to detail
