New Posting - Calgary Airport Authority

The Calgary Airport Authority is a not-for-profit non share capital corporation, responsible for the management, maintenance, operation and development of the Calgary International Airport and Springbank Airport under long-term leases from the Government of Canada.  Currently recruiting a Documentation Specialist for a Term position. 

The Role
This position reports to the Manager, Operational Process Integration, as part of the Terminal Integration Project Team. The successful candidate will research, analyze, write, edit and publish accurate and complete documentation related to complex department policies, practices, processes and procedures. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to understand business processes and functions, define the information needed for operational procedures, irregular operations, training and education of the airport community. Specific duties include:
  1. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in order to gather appropriate information required for developing and refining standards, procedures and process documentation.
  2. Documenting processes, policies and procedures by writing, editing and publishing comprehensive standard operating procedures, policy documents and other supporting documentation that meets regulatory requirements and is clear, concise and easy to understand.
  3. Seeking out pertinent information using appropriate interview and information-gathering techniques.
  4. Supporting the Terminal Integration Project team by liaising with other departments and other project teams to understand the documentation needs and incorporating the aspects of these projects into new or updated documentation.
  5. Work with team members to ensure that drawings and graphical information is correctly incorporated in the documentation.

Basic Requirements
§  Previous technical writing or operational process documentation experience.
§  Ability to plan, prioritize, schedule and track assigned initiatives in order to meet deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and detail.
§  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
§  Confident and proactive problem solver with the desire and ability to achieve results while building and maintaining strong working relationships.
§  Intermediate computer experience with MS Office and InDesign.

Additional Requirements
• Airport or aviation operational experience is strongly desired.
