Reporting to the Acting VP of Stakeholder Relations and Communications, this position is responsible for leading the development of Corporate Programs at the GTAA. Of particular focus, this role will manage the Event and Tour Programs to deliver on corporate engagement objectives and build a sense of pride and place.
This position is a term position ending August 28, 2015.
Job Description Key Accountabilities:
- Lead a well-managed contribution group within budget and aligned to the strategic plan.
- Provide oversight and strategic direction to the planning, development and execution of Corporate Programs (Events Program and Tour Program) that deliver on corporate-wide engagement objectives and are designed to build sustainable engagement with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g. community, residents, GTAA employees, Toronto Pearson Employees, airlines, business partners/vendors, industry stakeholders). Oversee the development and execution of a rolling 5-year business program, including resource requirements.
- Develop messaging and product positioning that differentiates Toronto Pearson and drives stakeholder relations.
- Accountable for the development and delivery of event briefs to Executive Team and Board members
- Work collaboratively with internal clients to oversee the translation of business objectives into relevant event and tour programming.
- Measure the success of event and tour performances to analyze opportunities and maximize engagement
- Track projects and provide weekly reports to the A/VP Stakeholder Relations & Communications and managerial support as required to address various Corporate Programs initiatives and projects as identified.
- Manage and supervise Corporate Programs staff, as well as to provide and ensure appropriate training opportunities and up to date education materials pertinent to the employee’s work discipline
- Manage and supervise GTAA’s corporate inventory and corporate gifts and items.
- Establish and manage the GTAA Employee Social Committee to solicit employee feedback, evaluate and recommend strategies for improving employee engagement.
- Provide support and input for media, communication and issues management.
- Develop, monitor and maintain logs, database, records, chronicling issues, actions taken and results.
Job Requirements Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in business, event management, marketing or communications equivalent, in addition to at least 5 years of progressive work experience in a customer driven environment and client management.
- Experience negotiating with others with a proven track record of achieving mutual interests.
- Must have a minimum 5 years in a management position with direct reports and people leadership skills.
- Knowledge of marketing, sales and negotiation practices within the aviation, travel or tourism industry is an asset.
- He/she must be proficient in business computer applications, and demonstrate superior interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with domestic and international airlines, professional airport organizations, government agencies, business leaders as well as employees and the public.
- He/she must demonstrate the ability to develop and implement corporate program strategies or policies, and exercise sound independent judgment.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance.

- He/she must possess: superior oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross‐functional business partners to achieve results.

- Solid project management skills and experience with the capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with strong prioritization skills.
