The Calgary Airport Authority is currently recruiting a Communications
Specialist.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications & Marketing,
this role will partner closely with the project teams responsible for YYC’s new
international terminal expansion, and develop internal and external
communication plans and materials in support of this projects.
Specific duties include:

- Liaise regularly with major project teams to gain understanding of project milestones and communication requirements.
- Develop project communications plans associated to the projects, addressing a variety of internal and external target audiences. Identify, coordinate and execute all tactical pieces associated to the plan, including: -Writing, editing and updating content for website and traditional communication channels with project information. -Preparing quarterly project status updates for key stakeholder groups. -Drafting and editing project communication materials to ensure tone and manner are consistent with the Authority’s culture and brand.
- Develop a communications strategy related to the grand opening of the international terminal expansion, including the identification of corresponding tactical pieces.
- Create partnerships with required vendors/agencies who may assist in the execution of a variety of special events.
- Develop public information notices/announcements on the projects.
- Responsible for supervising a Communications Coordinator who will assist in the delivery of the tactical pieces.
Communications Specialist with proven experience in developing and
implementing communications strategies and tactics. Typically obtained through post-secondary
education in Communications or related disciplined combined with at least three
years of related experience.
Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills. Familiarity with Canadian Press Style
Guide. Able to adapt style to suit
different communications media and audiences.
Strong customer focus and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to
detail.
Experience in managing multiple projects and establishing/maintaining
vendor relationships.
Strong computer literacy and familiarity with website content
management systems, social media, video blogging and video editing software, as
well as desktop publishing software.
Innovative and creative thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to
work effectively with a variety of people.
Additional Requirements
The term lasts from October, 2014 to December 31, 2015.
