Assistant Station Manager

Duties and Responsibilities Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Manages the station to ensure adherence to on-time departures, optimum resource allocation and coaster satisfaction.
  • Build a work culture such that costs, quality assurance and customer satisfaction key areas to drive efficiency.
  • Ensure the Airport and Cargo Operations performance is in accordance with regulatory, company and customer requirements.
  • Monitors station performance on a daily basis against KPl’s and SOP.
  • Responsible for all aspects of operations to ensure that corporate standards are implemented and maintained.
  • Manage and provide functional guidance and over sight of the Airport and Cargo operations.
  • Assist in the administration of third party contracts and shift schedules and duty roster.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient delivery of services.
  • Responsible for the generation of daily inventory reports.
  • Assist the Company in local Marketing and Sales activities.
  • Active member of the First Air Emergency Response team.
  • Assumes responsibility for the overall safety of all cargo and ramp operation employees.
  • Responsible for compliance with Station Controls and Internal Audit Standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum of grade 12 education or related work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of cargo and ramp operations background and managerial experience within the airline industry.
  • Operating knowledge of First Air’s Cargo Program and Passenger Service SOP (Sabre)
  • Superior operating knowledge of Airport operations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Audit and Safety Management training is considered an asset.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to perform in a high pressure, high volume environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Must hold a valid provincial drivers license.
  • Bilingualism considered as an asset.
  • Must obtain a Dangerous Goods Acceptance certification if required.
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
