*SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications: *
- Minimum 4 year university degree in a business related field.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience with a minimum of 10 years of sales experience, preferably in aviation.
- At least 3 years of budgeting experience, including forecasting and statistical analysis.
- Excellent product knowledge in all areas of Company operations.
- Proven negotiation and sales skills.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the business sector, government and aboriginal groups.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with a thorough understanding of different cultures, traditions, practices and beliefs as it affects doing successful business in the North.
- In-depth knowledge of Northern issues and the ability to analyze and interpret these issues in the context of the Company's goals and objectives.
- Extensive network of positive relationships with key Northern business, community and government representatives.
- Solid customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate.
- Willingness and availability to travel frequently is essential.
- Budgeting experience required.
- Solid computer skills, including the full MS Office applications.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities: *
- Build a work culture such that maximizing revenue, optimizing sales and ensuring customer satisfaction are key to drive effectiveness.
- Identifies, creates, actions, maintains, protects and maximizes revenue opportunities with all customers.
- Provides accurate analysis, forecasts and intelligence on all relevant Northern issues affecting revenue opportunities in the Arctic Region.
- Ensures preparation of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual reports; analyzes revenue performance and identifies avenues for maximizing revenue.
- Be the prime point of contact for all major customers and assigns account managers for all others.
- Guides, monitors and evaluates the sales managers on the planning and development of all sales strategies, action plans and customer visits.
- Responsible for the design, development and implementation of the First Air marketing plan.
- Represents First Air professionally during conferences, trade shows and other community/promotional events across Canada.
- Reduces the cost of sale.
- Manages the relationship with all partnership forms intended to find new customers or maximize revenue from existing customers.
- Negotiates, prepares and signs contracts.
- Prepares the annual departmental budgets.
- Manages and leads by example with excellent internal and external customer service.
- Mentors direct reports.
- Conducts periodic reviews and audits to ensure ongoing quality and compliance.
- Be on call to answer time sensitive questions or decisions.
- Active member of the First Air Emergency Response team.
- Other duties as requested by the Vice President Commercial.
