Canadian North is currently recruiting a Flight Dispatcher for the Calgary base.
Responsibilities:
- Preflight preparation and Flight Watch within assigned routes
- Develop, review, authorize, issue and revise operational flight plans for all Canadian North flights as required, inclusive of training and test flight operation
- Determine operating conditions and requirements for each flight
- Final flight planning including route analysis and calculation of fuel requirements
- Analyze operational conditions and identify opportunities that may benefit, constrain or impede operational capabilities
- Provide crew briefings
- Communicate to Air Traffic Control Services all operational flight plan requirements
- Report deviations from standard, which could impact schedule down line
- Coordinate with maintenance control on any MEL items or aircraft issues, including the routing of Canadian North aircraft
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management Systems program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety
- Other duties as assigned and/or department specific
Qualifications:
- Must have written and passed both Transport Canada Flight Dispatch Generic Exams
- Must hold a valid Air Operator Radio License
- Must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant
- Must be minimum 21 years of age as required by Transport Canada
- Demonstrated good working knowledge of general computer and software applications
- Demonstrated success in multi tasking during high stress situations with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast paced dynamic environment
- Flexible with the ability to work shift work
- Demonstrated excellence in prioritizing and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills including ability to communicate in a clear, accurate, concise and professional manner
- At least one (1) year dispatch experience in a (CARS 705) Type A or B operational control system preferred
- AA Dispatch license, considered an asset
- Commercial Pilot License, considered an asset
- Flight Service Specialist experience, considered an asset
