Kelowna Flightcraft is currently recruiting a Cargo Operations Manager
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Cargo Operations Manager is responsible for managing all cargo operations ensuring optimal utilization of aircraft cargo, complying with all safety and security regulations and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY
Air Operations
• Coordinates with dispatch, flight and crew scheduling, providing functional and technical direction
• Manages the activities of the ground crew in marshaling and tethering of aircraft
Cargo Handling
• Manages the activities of the ground crew in packaging, on-ground movement, loading, unloading, securing, and balancing of air cargo
• Responsible for all air cargo paperwork including customs clearance
• Responsible for all warehouse and terminal operations
• Provide direction to third parties
Commercial Cargo Sales
• Ensures sales team meets or exceeds revenue targets
• Manages budget, sales costs and sales effectiveness
• Maintains relationships with General Sales Agents and Freight forwarders
• Responsible for Capacity Management and preparing final booking list
• Resolves cargo sales conflicts and manages last minute changes
Supervision
• Day-to-day coordination and supervision of team members & subcontractors
• Delegation of tasks and responsibilities
• Participates in recruitment and selection
• Performance Management
Any other duties assigned by the Director of Business Development.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 10 years demonstrated Cargo Operations experience at Management level
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated international Cargo Operations experience
• Air Cargo Management Diploma or IATA Certificate of Completion is considered an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge of IATA Air Cargo laws and regulations
• Proven experience with shipping documentation (e.g. bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Native English speaker or minimum 80% score on IELTS English Exam
• Foreign Language (French) would be an asset
