Corporate Real Estate provides real estate services and expertise to internal customers and this throughout all countries where Air Canada operates. A vacancy exists for a Manager, Real Estate Programs, to oversee and be responsible for a real estate portfolio comprised of airport, commercial and industrial space within a varied geographic region 
  • Oversee the leasing of facilities in owned, third party and airport properties
  • Develop, recommend and implement short, mid and long-term real estate strategies in line with corporate objectives
  • Develop proposals and financial recommendation for acquisitions and/or dispositions of Air Canada’s real estate assets
  • Target space optimization opportunities
  • Target 3rd party leasing opportunities for vacant space and successfully drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Plan annual budget for the real estate portfolio being managed
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the airport authorities, landlords, tenants and internal customers while maintaining ability to challenge requirements for expansion and/or relocation
  • Manage and coach a team of professionals and administrative technical support staff by providing clear and strong direction and guidance
  • Motivate a team by fostering positive interactions
  • Work in a project management environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Finance with five (5) years experience in real estate or relevant experience
  • In-depth knowledge of leasing, real estate and/or contract negotiations
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the current real estate market
  • Thorough understanding, analyzing and developing financial models as it pertains to real estate
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to close deals while obtaining the best terms for the corporation
  • Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to be assertive while maintaining diplomacy and political awareness
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to shift priorities on an ad hoc basis
  • Organized and disciplined
  • Proficient in all MS Office products with advanced MS Excel experience
  • Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong ability to be a team player
  • Must be willing and able to travel frequently
  • Airline experience is an asset
