POSITION DESCRIPTION
MMM is currently seeking an Airport Planner to join our Aviation Division located in our Ottawa Office. This position will be responsible for a broad range of airport planning projects.   Candidates with significant aviation or airport experience are also encouraged to apply.  

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Undertaking aviation and airport industry research
  • Analyzing aviation demand patterns
  • Preparing aviation and airport feasibility studies
  • Developing airport planning and zoning plans
  • Preparing airport conceptual designs
  • Contributing to airport preliminary designs
  • Liaising with team members, industry and the public
  • Preparing text, graphics and planning drawings for reports
  • Assisting at public meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Highly motivated graduate from a Civil, Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering program or alternatively a degree in Airport Planning or Aviation Management from an accredited university or college
  • General knowledge and passion for aviation subjects
  • Ability to travel periodically
  • Familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Aerodrome Standards and Recommended Practices (TP312E).  Familiarity with IATA and ICAO airport planning documentation would be an asset
  • Ability to use AutoCAD, MS word, MS excel & PowerPoint; Corel Draw experience is an asset
  • Good communication, analytical and writing skills are essential
  • Excellent report preparation, presentation and research skills and the ability to work in a team environment are required
  • A pilot license is an asset
  • Candidates should have the potential to grow and to take on the role of project coordination in an expanding practice
  • Candidates with 5 or more years of experience will be considered for a more senior role
