Security Operations Centre Agents provide a critical service within the Airport that supports people, personnel and property safety through the collection and provision of information and assistance. Security Operations Centre Agents work in an Integrated Operations Centre that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Currently we are accepting applicants to join YVR CORE division.
Location: YVR Airport
Position Overview
Security Operations Centre Agents perform a variety of duties which include the monitoring of security resources, alarms and systems with computer aided dispatch and monitoring systems. The position involves a high level of public and client contact and requires the incumbent to exercise sound judgment, excellent customer service and tactful communications. The incumbent's performance will be reviewed and assessed on a regular basis by a supervisor relative to conduct, public relations, attainment of job duties and program objectives. Examples of key work activities include:
  • Monitor, dispatch and log reports on security systems
  • Coordinate handling of incidents with the Airport Authority
  • Monitor Surveillance CCTV Cameras
  • Respond to emergency events and incidents according to the Airport Authority Emergency Plan
Education and Experience
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented by some coursework such as bylaw enforcement, conflict resolution with investigative/enforcement work or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a legislated and/or regulatory environment.
  • Possession of or capacity to obtain a security clearance through the Ministry of Justice
  • Have knowledge of Windows-based applications with an emphasis on word processing
  • Be able to type/keyboard at 40 net w.p.m.
  • Meet the linguistic requirements for the position (English)

Requirements:
  • Valid Security License
  • Ability to obtain valid RAIC
Working Conditions and Effort:
The work involved requires sitting, standing and using office equipment and computers for long periods of time. The work involved also requires lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
