Manager, Airport Operations Kamloops Airport 
The Manager, Airport Operations will lead a strong, established operations and maintenance team to ensure the safe, reliable, efficient and effective operations of the airport. This senior role reports to the Managing Director. 



Key Responsibilities 
 Oversee and ensure best practices in the operation and maintenance of the airport – all property and facilities (landside, terminal and airside)
 Maintain and ensure airport compliance with safety, security and regulatory standards o Enforce airport policies and regulations 
o Ensure regulations are translated into practical operating procedures; equip staff team to successfully host third-party auditors 
o Manage the Safety Management System 
o Manage Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting services 
o Oversee aircraft operations and related ground activities 
o Oversee airport security and passenger facilitation processes (including passenger screening) 
 Supervise the operations and maintenance team, including all aspects of labour relations, and – together with the Supervisor, Safety and Facilities – assist with recruitment, schedule staff, prepare training plans, and develop the team 
 In conjunction with the Managing Director, create strategic plans, business plans, and annual budgets 
 Assess requirements, and prepare long term capital plans and budgets; oversee all aspects of capital projects – tendering, coordination of construction and operations, negotiating, and giving final sign-off 
 Ensure environmental compliance and support sustainability plans 
 Build relationships with regulatory, commercial, and community stakeholders of the airport o Model and promote the airport’s customer service approach to handling issues o Present meaningful operations updates to the airport authority society 
 Work closely with the Managing Director, and Vantage colleagues to optimize airport performance This position acts as the Managing Director’s designate in his/her absence, and as appropriate for various meetings and events.  May also assist Managing Director in communicating to the public. 

Some international travel required; must hold suitable valid passport. 
Qualifications 
 Min 5 year’s work experience in an aviation/airport operating, facilities maintenance or industrial environment, including experience with facilities and equipment preventative maintenance practices and procedures 
 Strong personal and professional commitment to safety, including experience creating safe environments 
 Natural team leader, with a track record of consulting and empowering direct reports 
 Demonstrated ability to prepare and monitor a departmental budget 
 Experience in developing and managing capital projects 
 Knowledge of and experience with emergency response procedures an asset 
 University degree in business administration or operations management preferred
