Airport- YVR OCC Duty Manager

Job Summary
The Operations Control Center (OCC) Duty Manager is the central point of communication for the daily operation. The OCC Duty Manager tracks aircraft movement of our customers and communicates the movements to the operating departments; logs daily flight activity; Solves problems; Proactively manages the operation to include manpower ; Ensures the operation is conducted in accordance with Swissport safety regulations and SOP; and communicates to both internal and external customers in a timely and professional fashion.



Roles & Responsibilities
  • Must adhere to ALL safety rules, safe working practices/procedures and Company Policies;
  • Coordinate daily flight activity between all Operating Departments at YVR;
  • Communicate all daily flight schedule changes to all affected Operation Departments and reallocate resources to facilitate on-time departures;
  • Oversee the Flight Operations department;
  • Ensure all Swissport controllable services are completed for an on-time departure;
  • Communicate with all levels of management, operating departments, customers and other agents in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Proactively manages the operation;
  • Performs administrative duties related to the operation;
  • Ensure daily flight activity logs are accurate for proper invoicing;
  • Optimize the use of the ramp staff for flight activity coverage;
  • Works with other team members and other Department Manager to solve problems and make decisions;
  • Works on continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence goals;
  • Create the OCC Coordinator and Allocator’s weekly schedule;
  • Maintain good relations with co-workers, customers and airport authorities;
  • Able and willing to be cross-trained in other departments when required;
  • Must be dependable and reliable;
  • Performs all and other duties by the OCC Manager.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelors or Associates degree a plus, but not required;
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in airport operations environment in a supervisory role;
  • Operation’s management aptitude;
  • Able to think critically and problem solve;
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities;
  • Able to make difficult decisions while under pressure;
  • Integrity, commitment to excellence and service oriented
  • Able to hold self and others accountable;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • High proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel;
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings;
  • Understanding of ramp operations;
  • Commitment to continuous improvement;
  • Ability to deliver results;
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently;
  • Attentive to detail and numerate;
  • Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritize, multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and manage to accomplish objectives within prescribed deadlines;
