Ramp Attendant (Seasonal)
Air North, Yukon's Airline - Vancouver, BC
$14 an hour
  • Load & unload baggage and cargo on and off the aircraft
  • Operate and position all airside equipment
  • Perform basic baggage equipment checks
  • Marshall aircraft in and out of ramp area safely and efficiently
  • Understand and communicate pit loading counts, procedures with flights crews and ground support
  • Service aircraft lavatories and water
  • Maintain on-going communication with Lead and/or Supervisor
  • Support and represent company policy at all times, i.e. uniform, personal conduct and maintain an organized and professional environment
  • Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous airline experience considered an asset
  • MUST pass a pre-employment security/background check and able to obtain an Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
  • MUST obtain AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operations Permit) license within three months
  • Valid Driver’s License and Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Must successfully complete an initial training program
  • Must be physically fit (able to bend, kneel, crawl, stoop and climb repetitively)
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds repetitively
  • Prepared to work outside in all climatic conditions
  • Able to work shift work, split shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Able to adhere to Air North safety policies while performing assigned duties
  • Demonstrate a passion for providing outstanding customer service
  • Most importantly, a good sense of humour and likes to have fun

Your role will be to provide safe, efficient and accurate handling of baggage and cargo – as well as ensuring the safety of aircraft, equipment, and your fellow teammates. This is an exciting, fast-paced, and time-critical place to be, right at the centre of the action – and a professional attitude and ability work in a team environment are key.
