Welcome to the Porter Pilot Early Connection Program. We invite Pilots with 200 hours or more to join our growing recruitment pool. Porter understands it’s a difficult path to navigate your career in aviation. The purpose of this program is to establish an early connection with you as you develop your aviation portfolio to meet our minimum hiring requirements (1000 hours).

​FUNCTION: The First Officer shall assist the PIC in the preparation and management of the flight. They will carry out take-offs and landings under specific authority of the PIC and shall carry out other such duties as the PIC may delegate. (Please note; to initiate a profile with Porter Airlines, Pilot candidates must possess a minimum of 200 hours. Once you achieve 1000 hours, please upload an updated resume under the posting of First Officer on the main career website.

Your future job description will be:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensures the safe operation of the aircraft

  • Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

  • Any other duties as assigned
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (Transport Canada) or Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License or Initial Aeroplane Type Rating (IATRA)

  • Category I Medical

  • Current Instrument Rating

  • Minimum 200 hours total time to establish a profile. (Minimum 1000 hours to apply for a First Officer opportunity)

  • Aviation College or University Degree is an asset
