Manager, Quality Assurance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of QA auditors who primarily will ascertain and ensure development of internal audit checklists of all activities controlled by the Company policy manuals; accomplish scheduled, random and effectiveness audits at intervals prescribed in the Corporate Quality Assurance Manual; and distribute findings resultant from an audit to the appropriate Director for corrective action.
  • Prepare & manage the Annual Audit Plan for the Maintenance Operations, Flight Operations and Commercial Department.
  • Prepare & Present audit/training status reports to Management at regularly scheduled Quality Assurance Meetings.
  • Responsible for the retention of audit records for the greater of two audit cycles and two years.
  • Liaising with external auditors, completion of their checklists, and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with external auditor's maintenance findings. Completion of Vendor self auditing questionnaires and vendor audits when applicable.
  • Responsible for the application and acquisition of aircraft Certificate of Registration/Certificate of Airworthiness and Special Flight Permits. / Review of MEL amendments prior to TC submission / Review of MSAs & amendments prior to TC submission.
  • Responsible for reviewing training status of personnel within Departments reporting to the Manager Quality Assurance, scheduling the necessary training and report status at the monthly Director/Manager meetings.
  • Responsible for the operation of the Approved Training Organization and ensuring organization remains compliant with Transport Canada Regulations (CARs).
  • Responsible for maintaining maintenance weight & balance program/mod report submissions to TC.
  • Utilization of SMS reporting program and adherence to the Safety Policy.
  • Maintaining ACA/SCA & SAA certification program / Maintaining QA Airworthiness Directive Review program.
  • Routinely analyzes and keeps current the Department's processes and procedures with objective of improving efficiency & productivity.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
  • 2 year Post-Secondary education in a related discipline of aircraft maintenance/aviation sciences/aviation technology
  • Minimum 4 years of previous experience in quality assurance required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of the business and customer environment.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Previous experience managing budgets.
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada
