Junior Operations Manager
Global Aviation Service Inc - Toronto Pearson International Airport, ON
Working Location: Vista Cargo Terminal
Basic Purpose:
Responsible for managing and monitoring the productivity of the Daily Flight Activities (cabin). Ensure crew are organized and prepared. Monitor and mentor crew to assist team leaders in achieving Company pre-established goals. (On Time Performance, Quality Control, Resource Allocation)

Accountability:
This position is accountable to the General Manager of Cabin Service for Toronto Operations
  • Authority:
This position is authorised to carry out the specific responsibilities of the position
  • Specific Responsibilities of the Position:
  • Coach, Train, Mentor, and Motivate – Team Lead and Employees.
  • Oversee Team Leaders, grooming activities and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure crews are organized and prepared for the day.
  • Overall enforcement of Safety Procedures and Company or Client policies/Procedures.
  • Overall accountability for following Airport Security procedures and regulations.
  • Responsible for daily flight operations (cabin).
  • Inventory Control, ensure supplies are ordered when necessary, inventory is kept up to date and storage area is always tidy.
  • Ensure equipment is accounted for, functional and clean.
  • Vehicle inspection sheets (fuel, walk around) – ensure completed and filed.
  • Daily Operation Report - Write clear and concise daily operation reports.
  • Perform Employee Performance Reviews twice annually in writing and placed on employees file
  • Ensure DFI is fully completed and captures any/all Rechargeable items or notes – send to HDQ.
  • Manage attendance – replace if needed. (think cost saving)
  • Verify Attendance sign in-out sheet – ensure any extensions have been authorised by Lead with valid explanation.
  • Assist GM and VP in finding cost saving solutions.
  • Communicate with Senior Management and Customers, and relay any pertinent information to the Team Leaders.
  • Co-chair Health and Safety meetings.
  • Participate in Client meetings as required.
  • Communication:
Communication is paramount with your immediate Supervisor
  • ALL people resource issues as required will be in writing
  • Project updates will be verbal as required followed by monthly reports
  • Change:
This position will establish a culture of total accountability with employees that embraces positive change, emphasizes positive growth, discourages blame, supports initiative recognizing there will be failures in such a culture but failure will never be fatal because the risk will always be of calculated nature with contingency to soften the downside risk.
