New Posting - Flight Coordinator

Scotiabank Aviation is responsible for the operation of The Bank of Nova Scotia’s privately registered aircraft. The Aviation department currently has the following position available:

POSITION: Flight Coordinator
EMPLOYMENT Permanent Fulltime
LOCATION: Toronto (Pearson)
AVAILABILITY: August 2017
REPORTS TO: Aviation Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
A successful candidate will safely and efficiently set-up, coordinate and monitor corporate air
transport for senior executives to destinations anywhere in the world. This requires close and
detailed liaison between and among flight crew, passengers or their staff, regulatory or security
agencies, foreign handlers, and many other organizations. Responsibilities include but are not
limited to: scheduling aircraft and crew, coordinating all aspects of a trip before, during and
after, such as routing, customs & immigration, security, ground transportation, accommodations,
catering, etc. He/she will also support the department’s administrative requirements including
billing, invoicing, filing and reporting. The position requires world class customer service, often
under dynamic circumstances, and impeccable accuracy.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Include, but are not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
• Bachelor degree or college diploma preferred
• Aviation experience or work experience directly supporting executives in a fast-paced
environment preferred
• Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and confidence to master new aviation-specific
programmes
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and comfortable in a
casual or formal environment
• Shows flexibility and enthusiasm for unstructured schedule
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a smile, with persistent attention
to detail
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, works well in a
small but experienced team environment
• Possess strong time management skills for scheduling, organizing and prioritizing day-today
tasks
• Appreciates the need to plan ahead, and anticipate and address issues or risks before they
become problems
• Trusted to handle personal and confidential information with tact and discretion.
• Ability to obtain and retain a GTAA Restricted Area Identity Card
