Aviation Flight Crew Planner

Position Summary
The Crew Planner will be the key position responsible for the entry of all aircraft journey log sheets, recording flight and crew duty information into the applicable software(s), producing daily, weekly and monthly flight and duty limitation reports and completing daily operational flight and duty auditing as required. The Crew Planner will monitor all flight and duty for each individual and liaise with the crew scheduler and flight operations management to ensure monthly and daily schedules meet the individual flight and duty limitations. The crew planner will also ensure operational flight plan paperwork is retrieved daily, stored and audited for the applicable time periods. The crew planner may be assigned other duties as operationally required by their applicable manager.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
This position is responsible and accountable for, but not limited to, the following duties:
  • Enter all aircraft log sheet data into applicable software.
  • Enter all flight crew duty information on to the Flight Crew Duty spread sheet.
  • Enter all flight crew duty information into the flight and duty software.
  • Monitor all flight and duty entries to ensure that the planned schedule is still within limitations and regulations on a daily basis.
  • Constantly update and reflect any re assignment necessary on the operations board to ensure all CARs regulations are satisfied.
  • Assist Operations in crew call outs for overtime.
  • Assist operations in reassigning crew members in the event that a crew member can’t complete his/her assigned duties.
  • Assist the Crew Scheduler with any monthly duties involving scheduling.
  • Audit all flight and duty entries for the opposite rotations entry period.
  • Coordinate the retrieval, retention and disposal process of flight operations flight plans and manifests.
  • Ensure the applicable OFP’s receive auditing with the 90 day retention period.
  • Possess the ability to make informed decisions without compromising internal policies/procedures.
  • Work with department managers to understand the basic workings of each department.
  • Identify and recommend efficiency opportunities to management, which would improve upon daily processes to capture operational efficiencies i.e. improve reporting accuracy, completeness, timeliness.
  • Any other Duties as assigned by the SOCC Supervisor
Education and Experience
  • Minimum Grade 12 diplomas; prior experience in operations and/or flight coordination preferred.
  • Successful completion of Transport Canada Exams ( FD Ops and FD Met) considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations would be considered an asset
  • Strong customer service experience considered an asset
  • Ability to effectively listen and demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Skyline and Microsoft Office software is considered a strong asset
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility and flexibility, with demonstrated interpersonal skills allowing one to adapt to a fast paced working environment
  • Ability to think critically and act logically to evaluate situations and provide sound judgment
  • Effective and efficient multitask and organizational abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is imperative
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated
  • Work well within a team environment
  • Ability to qualify for WAA (RAIC) Pass
