Responsible to the Manager, Emergency Response for the management of the Special Assistance Team and the maintenance of humanitarian and Special Assistance Team procedures and training.
- Responsible for managing the Special Assistance Team and humanitarian response to an aircraft accident or incident
- Develop and maintain Special Assistance training programs
- Develop, monitor and conduct Special Assistance Team training
- Responsible for the Special Assistance Team recruitment, processes and policies
- Maintain and assess the Emergency Response notification process and provide recommendations to the Manager, Emergency Response
- Responsible for aircraft accident and incident telephonic response procedures, including exercises
- Maintain databases for active and retired Special Assistance Team members including a record of training that has been received
- Develop and maintain the policies and procedures for reconciling the passenger manifest
- Participate in industry, regulatory and/or government agencies in establishing humanitarian response policies and recommended practices that meet regulatory and IOSA requirements
- Develop and maintain the policies and procedures for the Special Assistance Team
- Provide on-site assistant for the management of an aircraft accident or incident that results in the activation of the emergency response plan or requires intervention by the Special Assistance team.
Qualifications
- University degree in arts or sciences and courses in Emergency Planning preferred.
- Background in humanitarian response would be an asset.
- Previous management experience in Emergency Response and experience in Special Assistance.
- Experience participating in and working with international forms (working groups, task forces, committees et) would be an asset.
