WestJet Encore – Training Coordinator
Description:
The Training Coordinator is responsible for arranging and organizing all pilot, flight attendant and dispatcher training events. Responsible for scheduling, coordination and tracking of Transport Canada pilot training, flight attendant training and proficiency requirements.
· Responsible for identifying any deficiencies associated with Transport Canada requirements and communicating same, in a timely manner, to the Chief Pilot or Director of Inflight
· Ensure appropriate training schedules are prepared and entered into the planning system and delivered to Crew Planning for blocking
· Responsible for accurate data entry and tracking of all records associated with pilot and flight attendant training
· Responsible for prompt and accurate tracking of pilot medicals, licenses, flight attendant and pilot passports and Restricted Area Identification Passes and the issuance of timely reminders and appropriate follow-up
· In conjunction with the Manager Crew Operations, oversee a long-term strategic manpower plan that will maintain crew levels to meet operational requirements
· In conjunction with the Manager Crew Operations, evaluate proposed marketing schedules and block hours to determine the impact on pilot and flight attendant training requirements
· Assist with the development of monthly pairings in compliance with Transport Canada Regulations and WestJet crew member work rules
· Coordinate all 3rd party training requirements including the scheduling of full flight simulator requirements
· Prepare and distribute miscellaneous internal reports as required
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years of scheduling experience, preferably with Flight Crew, is an asset
· Working knowledge of Merlot systems is an asset
· Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications
· Minimum 2 years of airline experience is required, preferably in an operational environment
· Working knowledge of Transport Canada ACP (Approved Check Pilot) Manual and CARS (Canadian Air Regulations) as appropriate
· Possess a high degree of motivation and commitment to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic, changing environment
· Proven ability to multi-task during high stress situations with minimal supervision
· Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload
· Proven ability to work under constant and strict deadline pressures
· Must possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills with the capability of establishing respect and credibility through actions the ability to work evenings/weekends and on call as required
