Based at Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport, we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Hours : Weekends and Overnights. Wage: Dependent on Experience Job Summary : As part of the Alkan Air team, the Flight Dispatcher will be expected to deal effectively in a fast pace, time critical environment while ensuring a professional manner at all times. This role will mainly, but not inclusively, consist of organizing, coordinating and dispatching of our aircraft.  Responsibilities:  Computer literate, knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel. Maintain effective communication between all Operations departments/staff/Managers and other areas to minimize flight delays and daily flight schedule integrity. Follow all procedures and policies that will enhance and maintain the Safety Management System and its efficiency. Initiate emergency response procedures as required by Alkan Air’s Emergency Response system. Any other related duties as assigned by Management. Answer phones, Skype messages, and email providing clients with exceptional customer service. Ensure ramp is notified of medevac flights and pop up charters. File required documents for international charters. Prepares quotes for private charters and clients. Follow up with clients on all pending quotes. Coordinate passenger pickups and drop offs. Obtain weather from client and distribute to pilots. Maintain medevac board and know whereabouts of all aircrafts. Dispatch medevac flights and keep medevac pilot schedule up to date and accurate. File required documents for international charters. Requirements:  completion of Grade 12 is required Completion of a Canadian post-secondary program is an asset 1-2 years of customer service in a field or office setting Previous experience in aviation or a similar position Analytical and organized, with strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent attention to detail Proven experience in a fast-paced environment Northern experience an asset Class 3 Driver license an asset Ability to work independently under limited supervision Ability to maintain confidentiality Must be willing to relocate to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory Shift work, including evenings, nights and weekends, will be required For further information, or to apply, please click here
