THE TEAM
Beyond our planes and tarmacs are wildlife, ponds, air space and everything in between, which our Environmental Services team manage every day in support of our airport operations. This energetic team of four collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and thrives in our dynamic and fast-paced environment where priorities can change moment by moment. WHAT YOU WILL DO
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic specialist with a demonstrated commitment to sustainability and the environment. Reporting to the Director, Environmental Services this safety-sensitive position is a key senior role within the Environmental Department and is responsible for ensuring the organization’s compliance with the Environmental Management System, relevant municipal, provincial and federal laws and regulations, and external commitments.


WHAT YOU BRING
• Environmental Science or Sustainability education with detailed understanding of environmental issues and regulations,
• Experience in the development, maintenance, and continuous review and improvement of Environmental/ Sustainability Management Systems in accordance with ISO standards, e.g. 14001
• Experience managing a compliance program including development of performance criteria and monitoring via inspections and audits
• Demonstrated experience managing the environmental aspects of large industry, including hazardous materials management, spills response and contaminated site management
• Ability to evaluate technical data to determine trends, detect potential issues and ensure compliance to applicable regulations
• Ability to develop and implement environmental training programs ensuring key risk and regulatory requirements are addressed for appropriate audiences
• Strong written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into plain language
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach when working with stakeholders
• Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
• Obtain an Airport Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) and a Radio Operators License
• Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Meet the requirements of a safety sensitive position

WHAT ELSE?
• Bachelor degree in related field is considered an asset
• Knowledge of airport operations is considered a strong asset
