Chemistry Consulting has been retained
by Victoria Airport Authority to search for a talented human resources
professional to join its leadership team and assume the vital role of Manager,
Human Resources.
Reporting to the Chief Financial
Officer, the Manager, Human Resources provides leadership and advisory services
in all human resources functions including employee relations, labour
relations, health and safety, classification and compensation, benefits,
recruitment, performance development, training and development, and policy
development. The Manager, Human Resources also manages the monthly payroll/HRIS
for over 40 unionized and exempt employees and will be responsible for
championing HR best practices and objectives in order to effectively support
employees at all levels.

In order to be effective
within this multi-faceted position, you will have:
· Proven
leadership experience and skills necessary to mentor and supervise three direct
reports as well as build credible, trusting and supportive relationships with
all internal and external stakeholders, including a productive and positive union/management relationship.
· A university
degree coupled with a CPHR designation.
· A minimum of
five to eight (5 – 8) years’ experience as a senior human resource
professional.
· Three plus
years of supervisory experience.
· Experience
managing the complete payroll function for a small-to-mid sized operation.
· Familiarity in
a unionized environment with the ability to interpret collective agreements.
· Preference
will be given to candidates with experience in collective bargaining negotiations.
