The Communications Assistant's main responsibility is to assist in driving the online voice of our brand within the company and externally. This is accomplished by managing our social media presence, internal communication channels and the creation of digital/print advertisements. Secondary roles include light administrative duties supporting the C-Suite executives.
- Social Media. Assist with managing multiple social media activities in the development of high performing digital content with a focus on increasing follower interaction, driving site traffic, and increasing conversions in our careers portal. Find interesting and shareable content that aligns with our brands and schedule regular content on our social media accounts. Measure our follower growth, report on social media trends and identify opportunities for improvement
- Internal Communications. Assist in administrating our employee intranet, company website, digital signage and Yammer networks, engaging with employees and creating posts to foster a healthy, positive workplace culture
- Business Intelligence. Support the Manager, Technology & Projects with the administration of our business intelligence environment
- Graphic Design. Assist in creating digital and/or print advertisements as required by the executive team
- Office Supplies & Equipment. Reviews and approves office supply purchase requisitions. Monitors, coordinates shipments, distribute and store of office supplies and furniture. Sources out and negotiates with various companies for cost-effective services, equipment and office supplies. Coordinates the repair and maintenance of all office equipment
- Maintain Mobile Phone Accounts. Assist company cell phone users with technical issues, distribute/manage new devices.
- Customer Liaison Assistance. Assist with greeting and directing corporate office callers, visitors and employees by determining nature of the business and directing callers to appropriate destination when receptionist is unavailable
- Document Preparation & Management. Format and edit letters, memos, reports, proposals, minutes and presentations for C-Suite.
- Travel Planning. Coordinates cost-effective travel arrangements and itineraries for individuals and groups for C-Suite.
- Post-secondary education, preferably in Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Suite
- Able to multitask and meet multiple or unexpected deadlines in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently
- Demonstrate sound judgement regarding confidential and sensitive matters
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work irregular and on call hours if required
- Knowledge of HTML, SQL, DAX or M an asset
- Graphic Design related experience an asset
