Job Summary
Reporting to the Quality, Health & Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator will be responsible to apply the safety management policies and procedures locally so that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment and that Swissport complies with all current and future regulations and laws.

Job Responsibilities
  • Must adhere to ALL safety rules, safe working practices/procedures and Company Policies;
  • Maintain a register of the station specific legislation applicable to occupational health and safety and complement Swissport’s corporate, country and/or divisional documentation with applicable station specifics;
  • Enter data (NM/SO/INCIDENTS/AI’s) into SMT;
  • Ensure all know hazards and incidents are being reported, recorded and investigated on occurrences in line with corporate standards;
  • Support safety team with injury management and return to work plans;
  • Plan, prepare and conduct internal safety audits at given intervals at the station and initiate/monitor corrective actions based on corporate standards;
  • Deliver safety related training on an as needed bases;
  • Coach and correct unsafe behavior(s) and monitor/track progress;
  • Execute risk assessments as required;
  • Maintain internal excel injury tracking report system (LTI/MD/OFF);
  • Develop corrective action bulletins as required;
  • Remain current on all applicable health and safety regulations related to the industry;
  • Act as liaison with regulatory bodies (Workers' Compensation Board, Canada Labor Code);
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality, Health & Safety Manager
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Diploma/ professional qualifications or equivalent in related field is an asset
  • Minimum 1 year experience in safety management and/or health and safety management system
  • Knowledge of specific laws and industry regulations related to safety and safety management is an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office
  • A sense of passion for improving safety standards and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Good verbal and written communications in English
  • Personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness
  • Able and willing to work a variable work schedule
  • Able to obtain full security clearance and driving permit for airside operations
