We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Manager, Commercial Services (focusing on leasing and property management). Reporting to the Director, Commercial Services, Terminals, the successful candidate will manage and oversee leasing functions, including reviewing, renewals, follow-ups, as well as long term planning aspects related to the real estate non-shopping portfolio within the terminal building.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the development of the strategic plan both in the long and short-term allowing the department to meet its goals related to revenue generation and operational excellency
- Developing and monitoring business plans and the annual budget process for the portfolio, conducting financial analyses and recommending solutions for improving revenue
- Reporting on revenue and performance and providing variance explanation and mitigation plans
- Conducting strategic reviews of terminal and Vancouver Airport Authority’s office and support spaces and identifying new opportunities
- Negotiating legal agreements and working closely with third parties, airlines and governmental agencies, and consultants, in relation to leasing opportunities, relocations and temporary requirements
- Negotiating agreements and managing airline relationships in regards to their future development plans of office, support spaces and lounges, as well as identifying new opportunities
- Identifying opportunities for multi-level development of the space inventory in order to align future requests from upcoming stakeholders
- Working with engineering and project management leads, providing business owner input and expertise in the design and planning of new office space, lounge strategy and space developments
- Proactively developing contingency and temporary space plans
- Conducting and contributing to RFPs
- Providing support and direction to a team of professionals – this includes monitoring work efforts and performance, hiring, coaching, motivating and supporting developmental activities, conducting formal evaluations and applying appropriate discipline
- Ten years’ recent, related experience in leasing, real estate and/or property management and negotiation plus five years’ supervisory experience, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in business; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Experience preparing and presenting business cases and rationale to senior management
- Demonstrated program management and implementation experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation experience
- Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills and proven experience managing and coaching teams for high performance
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, property management programs
