We are seeking a strong leader who can evolve our vision and transfer it into our air time client experiences. With bases in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario, Flair Airlines operates scheduled domestic passenger services and charters in Canada, USA, and internationally.

This position will report to the Director of Flight Operations (DFO) and will have to mitigate challenges seamlessly, to ensure that we meet our regulatory and safety criteria.


Primary Job Functions
Our Flight Attendant Manager is accountable for the professional standards of the cabin crews under their authority through strong, warm and committed leadership. Through a lens of impeccable customer service and a reassuring commitment to safety, our new leader will aim to:
  • ensure Flight Attendant manuals, training, actioning and supervision is held to the highest-level of accuracy possible, while being mindful of mentorship, coaching, support and leadership for your Flight Attendants.
  • develop a culture of committed customer service and safety that is evidenced by your team as they wear, walk and talk the Flair Airlines Team culture proudly, on and off the aircraft.
  • ensure the current and approved flight attendant training program, role coaching, role improvements and subsequent training are impeccably performed, all the while leading by example in your every day activities.
  • work in close liaison with all other company departments to ensure effective two-way communication, respect, support and deliverables are upheld.
  • partner and collaborate with Human Resources, to maintain the Flair Airlines reputation of industry leading customer service and safety through the training methods, design and administering of the Flight Attendant performance management system. This is followed up by real time and scheduled coaching, guidance and mentorship.
  • encourage your Flight Attendants to proudly follow professional and personal grooming standards and provide their regular input into the design and of the Service Training programme.
  • ensure that yourself, as well the entire Flight Attendant department are trained, comfortable, committed and proficient to partake and maintain the Safety Management System for Flair Airlines.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Completion of high school.
  • Several years experience as a flight attendant and as an instructor would be ideal.
  • Completion of post-secondary education and/or technical training in aviation would be an asset.
  • Comfortable and familiar with the contents of the air operator's operations manual, air operator certificate and operations specifications as are necessary for the performance of the assigned duties;
  • Comfortable and familiar with the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards, as are necessary for the performance of your new leadership duties;
  • Demonstrate to the Minister the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • A second language, preferable French or Spanish, would be an asset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (word, excel, outlook etc.)
  • Familiarity with industry specific computer programs, and training will be given as required.

Working Conditions
The Flight Attendant Manager spends most of their time strategizing, leading and inspiring team members at the head office but will also frequently work on the line as a flight attendant. This will engage and inspire your team as you lead by example. You may be required to work a variable schedule including holidays, weekends, and long days.

Special Requirements

Flight Attendant Requirements:
  • Must be 19 years of age or older;
  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Must be able to communicate with an advanced level of written and spoken English;
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no restrictions;
  • Must hold a current valid passport; where a Canadian Passport is not held, a Canadian Permanent Resident card (accompanied with all individual Visas necessary to enable you to perform the duties of a Flight Attendant wherever Flair Airlines operates) is required;
  • Must successfully complete Initial Training to become a qualified Flight Attendant, full participation in training is required (no absences). Must successfully complete yearly recurrent training to maintain status as a qualified Flight Attendant;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (requires a 5-year traceable history, a clear criminal record and a Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident Card);
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment aviation medical (including alcohol and drug screening) and a criminal record check;
  • Must be available and willing to work any hour of the day, and any day of the week or year, as scheduled. This includes holidays and weekends;
  • Ability to be away from home for extended periods of time with a schedule that varies, often on short notice;
  • Must be available for reserve shifts. When on call for reserve, Flight Attendants must be contactable and able to report to work within 90 minutes of the request being made;
  • Successful completion of the CT301 course through the Inflight Institute is required prior to receiving company initial training, if selected. The cost of the course is reimbursed by Flair if the candidate successfully completes six (6) months of continuous employment;
  • Patient and able to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team; sometimes under difficult and stressful circumstances;
  • Safety conscious and positive attitude;
  • Previous customer service or serving experience is an asset; and
  • French fluency is considered an asset.
