WHAT YOU WILL DO
Ever wondered about the programs that the Calgary International Airport uses to create memorable guest experiences and engage our passenger and airport community? Reporting to the Manager, Airport Community Engagement, you will assist in creating, planning, promoting and implementing events and activities that engage Team YYC, a community of over 20,000 employees. You will also coordinate activities and events that directly impact the guest experience such as Pre-Board Pals, the YYC Music Program, guest surprise and delight as well as community-based programs like YYC Navigators. In this role, you will work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to encourage a team-oriented culture of customer service through collaboration, communication and recognition.

Key responsibilities include:
• Identify opportunities, requesting and deploying resources for IROPS and special events (Dreams Take Flight, YYC Navigators, Christmas, etc.)
• Nurture and build upon relationships with airlines, autism support agencies and the Calgary community to ensure continued success and expansion of program
• Explore and coordinate potential new programs for individuals with specific needs (i.e., fear of flying, first-time fliers, etc.) 
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching and ongoing communication with musicians and various performers to ensure understanding of the guest promise and general airport knowledge 
• Assist in the establishment of and adherence to terms & conditions for musicians and performers
• Create and deliver training to Pre-Board Pals volunteers that covers evacuation procedures, active shooter protocols, emergency preparedness (AEDs, IOC, etc.)
• Work with security and Transport Canada to facilitate post-security performances and events
• Work with external and internal stakeholders to ensure success of special events
• Collaborate with organizations such as FolkFest, BluesFest, Honens to bring these local events to the airport
• Coordinate all Communications to Team YYC 
• Coordinate special requests and events.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong relationship builder and interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Keen attitude to learn the business that enables big picture thinking when advising on internal messages, corporate culture and brand development
• Exceptional technical writing skills with strong accuracy in grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and spelling
• Proficiency with the following programs: 
o Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
o Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
o Boardmaker, Engage, Infax and content management tools
• Proficient in photography and videography 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Experience with administrative duties such as preparing and revising reports, presentations, inventory
• Ability to remain calm and work well in stressful situations 
• Ability to listen to concerns and problem solve in the moment
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
