The City of Abbotsford’s International Airport is a dynamic operation
with a mandate to operate a safe, secure, and efficient airport 24/7, 365 days
per year. The Airport is currently seeking a forward thinking professional to
fill the role of Airport Operations Manager.
As the Airport Operations Manager you will be responsible to ensure the
day to day operations of the airport are operating efficiently. Duties can vary
daily: from airline matters, to emergencies, facility matters, tenant problems
and stakeholder concerns. Your high comprehension of aviation regulations and
operations will assist you in contributing ideas to the formation of the
Airport strategic vision (operational, financial, safety, security, facilities
and development) for short term and long term planning horizons.
As the Airport Operations Manager you are a strategic thinker and
innovative problem solver. You have the ability to facilitate, coordinate and
manage operational systems, processes, projects and team development. Your
strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build credible and
trusted relationships at all levels throughout the organization and the City.
As the ideal candidate, you have:
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree (Business or Operations related);
- 5-10 years of progressive work experience in Airport Operations;
- Ability to obtain within 6 months:
- ARFF Live Fire Certification;
- ARFF Theory Certification;
- Standard First Aid (to CARs 323 requirements);
- WHMIS;
- Restricted Radio Operator’s License (ROC-A);
- Operational certificates including AVOP and RAP;
- Incident Command System Level 200;
- Emergency Operations Centre Essentials 120.
Abbotsford International Airport is a 24/7 operation and as such, this
position may be required to work evenings and weekends.
