Instructional Designer II

The Airports Instructional Design team is looking for an Instructional Designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the airports curriculum strategy, design, development and program management of WestJets global airports training programs, ensuring they meet guest experience, operational and regulatory requirements.


Position Outcomes:
  • Design & implement learning strategies that inspire our airport teams to deliver remarkable guest experiences.
  • Design a learning eco-system which drives performance, engagement, and change adoption
  • Analyze learning needs, determining project goals, learning objectives, and performance measurements by collaborating with subject matter experts and project managers.
  • Drive the end-to-end curriculum development process.
  • Design and develop learning content using instructional design best practices in a variety of methods including eLearning, instructor-led, digital media, social and community driven learning.
  • Tracking and evaluating effectiveness of launched curricula / programs delivered by creating & administering evaluation processes both prior to and after training engagements.
  • Ensuring quality control of instructional design and content.
  • Administering pilots to evaluate and revise training materials.
  • Managing and coordinating a means of reporting return on learning and return on investment
  • Research and keep abreast of evolving instructional design standards and innovations in the industry.
    Qualifications:
  • Outcomes focused with experience in owning the learning agenda for one or more business units
  • Previous experience in the modernization of an organizations learning service delivery is an asset.
  • Employee and leadership development experience is an asset
  • Previous instructional design experience in a corporate environment.
  • Strong relationship- building skills with experience working in a consultative and collaborative manner with business stakeholders and other cross functional teams.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in adult learning, education or instructional design is an asset and/ or a combination of education and airline inflight experience will be considered.
  • Intermediate skill level in Articulate 360 (Storyline), InDesign, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
