The Raptors is a birds of prey and falconry organization dedicated to raising awareness for birds of prey, promoting conservation and mitigating human-wildlife conflict across Canada.

We are looking for exceptional Airport Wildlife Control Officers to join our team! This position would primarily at the Vancouver International Airport but would include wildlife management and education work at other locations, including landfills and industrial sites, alongside travel to other worksites across Canada, utilizing modern wildlife management techniques and applied falconry to manage wildlife. The suitable candidate would have:

· A degree or diploma in a STEM field

o With a preference for biological/environmental sciences

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to work with a team, as well as be self-directed at times

· Willingness to travel for extended periods of time (1-3 months) for work

· Excellent communication skills

· Organizational skills

· Full (or partial, with a plan to become full) vaccination against CV19 with a Health Canada approved vaccine.

Exceptional candidates may also possess the following:

· Experience providing wildlife management at an airfield

· Valid PAL (Purchase & Acquisition License)

· Valid ROC-A (Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification)

· A valid provincial hunter’s license

· Experience banding/tagging birds (especially raptors)

· First aid training and experience

· Outdoor field skills

· Public speaking and/or education experience

This position requires Canadian citizenship and the ability to pass a rigorous security background check and criminal record check.

This is a full-time, permanent position with wages dependent on experience and extended medical benefits available after 3 months.
