Students – Take advantage of SWPP while looking for a work placement
Tell your potential employer about the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) funding, where employers could receive generous wage subsidies of up to $7,000 per placement from the government for providing quality employment to post-secondary education students – a great incentive to hire a student like you!
To be eligible for the SWPP funding, you must:
- Be registered at a Canadian post-secondary education institution.
- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 2. International students, i.e. persons using a Student VISA or work permit, are not eligible for the funding.
- Be legally able to work in Canada according to the laws and regulations of the province or territory where you live
